Tower Lighting - What is it?

Tower lighting is also known as portable or mobile light towers, balloon towers and Lunar lighting.  These types of light towers are used for temporary purposes. Tower lighting is simply a large light mast consisting of many lamps that are able to produce enough illumination to light an entire baseball field or up tp 10 acres.  The light mast and outrigger is attached to a portable generator, usually a diesel generator which provides the power supply.  This light fixture has the ability to be transported from one location to another by towing behind a truck or vehicle.  This is why tower lighting is not connected to the larger, more powerful standby generators as they are stationary and used for more permanent power supply.

Uses for Tower Lighting

Many industries and applications can benefit from the use of a portable light tower.  Tower lighting has been utilized greatly by the emergency services industry for road work and cautionary purposes. Balloon Light - these smaller units are best suited for residential and smaller applications. It may be used both indoors and outdoors due to their small size.  The balloon light fixture is inflated with helium or may come with a hard round covering with bulbs inside.  When regular lighting systems are not a possibility consider balloon tower lighting.

Modular Mobile Light Tower - There are only a couple manufacturers of this type of tower lighting.  These tower lights are designed to provide dependable lighting for many types of applications.  Many models include interchangeable power sources and can also be utilized for welding applications. Outriggers will come equipped with four lamps but may be custom designed to add more lighting capability.
